We have been seeing several cases regarding broken LCDs on the 14.1 widescreen products, both R61 and T61. The investigation is ongoing but for now, we need to make an exception for those customers who have broken LCDs similar to these (see photos) since this type of damage is normally billable. If the cracks originate in the top center of the LCD and the machines show no signs of mishandling, the customer should not be charged for the LCD replacement.
